Why would a Mayor want the Justice Department to investigate a local Sheriff?

For enforcing the law, of course.


The great Sheriff Joe Arpaio (famous for offering to house Paris Hilton during her jail term in his tent city jail full of inmates in pink jumpsuits) has be cracking down on illegal immigrants and the Mayor of Phoenix is pissed. So he sent a letter to the justice department asking them to investigate Sheriff Joe as the whether he had violated the civil rights in his enforcement of the law.

And the really funny part that is hinted at in the article, the letter was sent on the same day that Sheriff Joe's deputies conducted a raid that was observed by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and received their approval of his practices.

This is the libtard mentality of this country. When someone does their job, you don't tell them "Well done," you complain to the FBI.

What about my rights? I know that have have the right to pursue happiness. And my pursuit of happiness does not include pandering to lawbreakers or harassing those that enforce the law.
